About After Hours Cinema
After Hours Cinema is a late-night, horror host television program presenting both public domain and indie horror and sci-fi films, along with showcasing filmmakers and fandom. The show is seen on broadcast stations in Mississippi and New York, along with being syndicated on approximately 25 stations around the country. Additionally, the show has been featured on The Monster Channel and Betamax TV.
The show is hosted by Lee Turner, a lifelong low-budget horror and science fiction fan from South Mississippi. His love of B-movies goes all the way back to the early days of Cable and UHF TV, which frequently aired the classics and genre films during late-night marathons, especially on WTBS the Superstation.
While a fan of other horror hosts and Mystery Science Theater 3000, he has always shied away from riffing on the movies and is a frequent defender of “bad movies” who has also been dubbed a horror historian. Taking a page from the late great Bob Wilkins of Creature Features fame, Lee dons no costume, make-up, or persona to bring you insightful comments, trivia, and the history behind some of your favorite genre films.
Lee has collaborated with the likes of filmmakers and horror personalities James Ian Mair, Tim Wall, Scream Queen Pamela Sutch, Michael Rodriguez, Sheri Davis, and Jennifer Nangle aka Queen Malvolia. In addition, After Hours Cinema utilizes great guest hosts and special guests like Dawn Duverger, Hunter Bickham, Sparkle Soojian, Jeff Dylan Graham, Lilith Stabs, and Monica Hayes just to name a few.
